I fell in love with this romantic appearing scene on a trip to Southern Utah a few years ago. It was such fun to see a man and his horse with his herding dogs keeping the cattle in line. Not a scene we come across much anymore except in the movies. KMA2961 Orange Zest by Colorado Contemporary artist Kit Hevron Mahoney (12x12 acrylic, abstract floral)

This is another of my abstract floral still life paintings that was done as an exploration into creating paintings that have less detail but say more. It is a challenge to work mostly intuitively on these. Many of these start with some sort of reference but soon take on their own lives once I let go and let them dictate the direction. I have this painting at my Denver art gallery and studio, Brushstrokes Studio-Gallery.
