Wildlife Owl Art Painting "Wings of Silence" by Mary Arneson Art-Works of Whimsy





Have you ever witnessed an owl flying at night?  We used to see them all the time when we lived in California.  One of the wonderful things about owls is that their wings make almost no noise when they are flying.  I've learned that is because their wing feathers are very soft and they need stealth to catch their small scurrying prey.  My  inspiration for this painting was a video of a Eagle Owl coming in for a landing...now that was awesome to see!
